NOMINATE A NEW YORKER

Give us one New York memory. We might turn it into a world.

One person, one object, one memory, from here or from wherever you took New York. Pick a prompt and tell it in your own words. If the city chooses it, that New Yorker is painted within a day and the painting comes back to you. The nominator is credited. The subject is never tagged.

YOU KEEP YOUR STORY. WE ASK ONLY FOR THE PERMISSIONS ABOVE. ANYTHING COMMERCIAL IS A SEPARATE WRITTEN AGREEMENT, NEVER A CHECKBOX.

The city has your memory. One story is chosen every Sunday and painted by Monday. If it is yours, the painting comes back to you first.

How a memory is chosen

One nomination is picked every Sunday. The New Yorker in it is painted on Monday and posted Tuesday at 11:11 AM with the nominator credited by alias. The subject is never tagged and never named beyond what you wrote.

You keep your story and your photo. The painting is a gift: it comes to you as a share card and a Resident Card, it is never sold and never used in an advertisement. If a story or a likeness ever belongs in a product, that is a separate agreement in writing, signed by the person it belongs to.

Photos are references for the painting only and are deleted after the piece is made. To withdraw a story at any time, reply to the email you receive or write to the address in the footer.
